Breaking the Ice

Do you want to know how to entertain kids for about an hour? Make a big ice cube with toys inside and have them melt it to get the toys out. I let them have a metal spatula to chip at it. They had to work on it for 5 minutes to earn a glass of hot water. They used their brains to figure out other ways to try and melt the ice. They threw it. They licked it. They tried a rag to heat it up. It was neat to watch them think it all out.

We had also made a trail mix, added chocolate chips, melted it together and put it in the fridge to harden. The kids loved it. They had already eaten some of it before we melted it together the previous day. While they worked on the ice, they also got some of the trail mix hardened. I took some pictures of Caleb eating it.

Isn't he a cutie! It was fun to have someone Titus' age around for him to play with.

Henry and Brotherly Love

Henry is Michayla's lovie that she sleeps with at night. She let Caleb play with him. Caleb hugged and kissed on Henry.

Michayla had some loving on Caleb to do also.

After the older two had their baths, we put them in clean pajamas. Elijah put on the new pajamas I had bought him at a garage sale. When I bought them I didn't realize Caleb had matching ones.

Caleb spotted the real Superman!

 Caleb prepares for take-off!

Then, he decided to take Elijah down instead!

One of the things I really enjoyed while the kids were here was the sibling interaction.

Double Trouble

I decided to try and get more pictures of Titus and Caleb. They played really well together for the most part. Titus had his jealousy moments, but shared his toys really well. He did enjoy having playmates full-time and definitely missed them when all the activity left.

I also made another attempt at the four of them together and this was the best picture of the ones I had taken.

Pajama Day on the Playground

One day I just decided that the kids could just stay in their pajamas all day. They loved it! I mostly did it because I planned on giving them baths after naps and didn't want to go crazy changing the two younger ones and having the older two change their clothes 3 times.

I couldn't convince Caleb to get into the sandbox with the other 3.

The younger two had fun on both the smaller and bigger slide. Caleb taught Titus to climb up the rungs to his big slide while he was here.

The kids were monkeys, for sure.

Another attempt at a group shot.

Next pictures to be posted will be after the two boys have had their baths, but not the two older ones yet. I just put them in another pair of pajamas for the night, but that posting will have to be another day.
