Lazy, Pajama, Rainy Monday

Today is lazy Monday. Titus is having a pajama day. The day is rainy. So, what kind of fun can you have inside on a lazy, pajama, rainy Monday. You can....

Play Peek-a-boo with a blanket,

Admire the knick-knacks, but not touch them,

Lay next to the dog, but not on her,

Make tunnels with diaper boxes,

or just simply put a frog on your head.

So if ever you are stuck inside on a lazy, pajama, rainy day don't say there is nothing to do. You just have to have a little extra creativity.

Work and Bruises

We are putting Titus to work early in life.

He looks happy to me about it.

As Titus and I were getting him ready to head outside for the snow, he fell down and his head went straight for the chair leg. He has a nice bruise to show off.

Snow

It does snow in Kentucky. All that is left right now is the kids snowman next door. It will be 70 one day and only get up to 40 the next. It is kind of wacked out weather here. Titus had a chance to play in the snow yesterday for a little bit.

Titus didn't like being in the grass, since it made him fall in the cold snow. I found it funny though that he would push himself backward as if he were going down stairs to get back to the sidewalk.

 He liked eating the snow.
I put a pile of snow in the driveway for him to play with and he enjoyed that.

Titus in Love

Titus has fallen in love with Tasha. Everywhere he goes he says, Ga Ga, but makes it sound just like Tasha. One evening he had fallen asleep in the car on our way home from dinner out with my parents. As I was bringing him into the house, he could barely open his eyes. But he could mumble, Ga Ga. He refuses to say "Da Da" and laughs when you try to get him to say it. He will say Ga Ga every time you ask him to. Every dog has become Ga Ga, to where before he would call other dogs, Gog. Zoey is Oey. Tasha has her moments where she is tired of Titus, but she does good. Tasha will complain to us when she needs to rest apart from him. It is hard to keep Titus apart from her though when she is in his every thought.

Outside

Titus has been showing a lot of interest in playing outside lately. Sometimes he just has to dream along with Tasha about the freedom.

15 months (16 months)

Titus will be 16 months on Saturday, but due to our recent move I was not able to get his 15 month appointment taken care of until last Friday the 2nd. He got to stand on a scale for the first time in his life. He weighed in at 26 lbs., which means he gained a whole 2 lbs and 3 ounces since his 1 year appt. He is now 35" tall. He grew 4 inches. I think he grew 3 of those inches in the last month. His 24 month pajamas were too big before we moved to KY and now they fit him just right.

Other things at the doctor's office:

  • Those dry spots that mommy has been trying to get rid of on Titus' belly and back with lotions and creams since his birth can not be gotten rid of. They are birth marks.
  • He has a herniated belly button like Mommy and Daddy. It is hereditary. Your welcome, Titus! This is probably the best of the worst things you will inherit from us.
  • Verbally he ranks as a 19 month old.
  • He is still in the 70-75th percentile for height and weight. His head size is still in the 90th percentile.
  • He has allergies. The snot is not all due to teething. We were told to give him Zyrtec when he stops breathing out of his nose. Apparently the body filters air through the nose, but not the mouth.
I like this Pediatrician much better than the one up in Sycamore, even if he does seem a bit odd. I had asked the other Pediatrician about the "dry spots" and he said it was probably heat rash. I was never told his belly button was herniated. I just thought he was going to have an outty or that maybe one day it would go in. Although for boys this is not a concern. For girls they often do surgery, because with pregnancy the belly button can be quite painful. Anyway, as a side note...

Good Hygiene

Titus has been displaying habits of good hygiene. He gets excited to brush his teeth and loves brushing his hair. One of these days I'm sure he will also love getting his face washed, but I don't expect that for awhile.
